Welcome Guide

Thank you so much for booking a session with me. I’m truly thrilled that my style has resonated with you, and it’s an honour to capture this special chapter of your life. My photography is inspired by nature and the beauty of genuine, unposed moments—the laughter, the quiet connections, and the joy that families or couples share with one another. My hope is that the images we create together will become treasured memories for you and your family for many years to come. To help you better understand what to expect from your session, please take a moment to read through the guide below.

About your photographer

Hi, I’m Lisa, the girl behind the lens. Photography has always been an interest of mine, but it wasn’t until my two boys were born that I truly began to take it seriously. There is something incredibly special about capturing an image that reflects their true personalities—whether it’s a quiet gaze, a gentle smile, or even an out-of-control scream.

It’s those real emotions and raw connections that draw me so deeply into photography. The moments that words can’t quite describe are often the ones that mean the most. That’s what I hope to capture for you and your family. I’m truly honoured that you’re here, taking the time to read this and considering me to document your story.

I believe photography has the power to tell a story and to evoke genuine emotion. My goal for every session is to create authentic, emotive images that you and your family will cherish for years to come. I’m drawn to deep, rich tones and beautiful light, using them together to tell the story of your family. Whenever possible, I also love adding a subtle, dreamy touch to my images.

What to Expect During Your Session

My sessions are relaxed, natural, and focused on capturing genuine connection. Rather than stiff posing, I gently guide you with simple prompts and movements that allow real moments to unfold. Think of it more like spending quality time together while I document the laughter, the quiet glances, and the little in-between moments that make your story unique.

For families, I encourage children to simply be themselves. There’s no pressure for them to sit still or smile perfectly at the camera. Some of the most beautiful images come from playfulness, cuddles, and the spontaneous moments that happen naturally.

For couples, I’ll guide you into natural interactions—walking together, sharing a laugh, or simply enjoying a quiet moment side by side. My goal is to create a comfortable space where you can relax and connect with each other.

Throughout the session, I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly I’ll be observing and capturing the authentic moments that unfold. The result is a collection of images that feel honest, emotive, and truly reflective of your relationship and family.

Preparing Your Kids for the Session

The best thing you can do to prepare your children for the session is simply let them be themselves. My approach is relaxed and playful, and I welcome all the little personalities, energy, and emotions that come with children. There’s no need for them to sit still or smile perfectly at the camera—some of the most beautiful moments happen when kids are free to explore, play, and interact naturally with their family.

If your children are old enough, you might like to tell them that you’re going on a little family outing where someone will be taking photos. Keeping it light and fun often helps them feel relaxed and excited.

A few small things can also help the session run smoothly. Try to make sure little ones are well-rested and have had something to eat beforehand. Bringing along a favourite snack, drink, or small comfort item can also be helpful if needed.

Most importantly, please don’t worry about “perfect” behaviour. Children will be children, and that’s exactly what I love to capture—the laughter, the curiosity, the cuddles, and the genuine connection you share as a family.

Session Day Tips

A little preparation can help make your session feel relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. Here are a few simple tips to help the day run smoothly:

Arrive a little early

Plan to arrive about 5–10 minutes before the session start time so everyone has a moment to settle in and relax before we begin.

Make sure everyone is comfortable

Choose outfits that look beautiful but also feel comfortable to move in. When everyone feels good in what they’re wearing, it naturally shows in the photos.

Avoid rushing

Try to give yourself plenty of time to get ready and travel to the location. Arriving calm and unhurried helps everyone feel more relaxed.

Bring a few essentials

If you have young children, it can be helpful to bring snacks, water, or a small comfort item just in case.

Trust the process and enjoy the moment

The most meaningful images come from genuine connection. Focus on being present with your partner or family, enjoying the experience together, and letting the little moments unfold naturally.

Most importantly, relax and have fun. Your session is simply a chance to spend time together while I capture the beautiful, authentic moments that make your story unique.

What to Expect After Your Session

After your session, I’ll carefully go through and hand-edit the best images from our time together. Each photograph is thoughtfully refined to reflect my signature style, with attention to beautiful light, rich tones, and the authentic moments we captured.

Your final gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks. Once it’s complete, you’ll receive a link to a private online gallery where you can view your images, download your favourites, and share them with family and friends.

I always encourage my clients to print their photographs so they can be enjoyed every day, whether displayed in your home or preserved in a beautiful album. These images are meant to be more than files on a screen—they’re memories of this special chapter in your life.

Thank you again for choosing me to capture this special chapter of your life. It truly means so much to be trusted with these moments, and I can’t wait to create something beautiful with you and your family. If you have any questions before your session, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help.
